Best Pricey and Affordable Hair Styling Products

Hey guys!

As I mentioned in my last post, this time I would be talking about hair styling products that have the best results! Now I do realize that a lot of products that do have the absolute best results are rather pricey and sometimes just not even in the budget, but unlike cheap shampoo, there are affordable styling products that work wonders and in this post I have included both, and even once in awhile you can splurge on one product! A lot of my research was found at Cosmopolitan.com and Allwomenstalk.com… Here we go:

Expensive Styling Products:

1. Kerastase Nutritive Aqua Oleum- Sounds fancy right? From the writers experience, this is the best long lasting leave in conditioners they have ever used. The bottles are pretty small, used weekly, but is very effective. You can find this at hqhair.com for $21

2.Neal and Wolf Harmony Intensive Care Treatment- It smells gorgeously feminine but also seems to work magic on my tangled fine hair, adding intense moisture and shine – and all without weighing it down. $12. 95

3. Label.M Sea Salt Spray- From what I read this product is awesome for bed head looks, tousled hair, matte locks, it even protects against UV rays. $11. 50

4. Label.M Resurrection Dust- This product adds texture and volume from just massaging it into your hair and scalp. Never heard of this before but very interested to try now lol. $10

5. Bumble and Bumble Styling Spray- This hair spray is used before styling and contains a heat protectant. Usually you style first and spray after to hold the style but this spray allows your hair to move any way you want!! $16

6. Fekkai Glossing Cream- I actually have heard about this item from many people and they love this! It has pure olive oil for shine and is well known for repairing split ends. You can still lightly style your hair after using this and it also has heat protectant. You can purchase this at Sephora.com for $20

7. Biosilk Silk Therapy- I remember this was a brand my mother would always use until she discovered organic lol. This does not leave your hair looking as if you haven’t washed it in quite sometime. It’s basically lightweight lotion for hair and has sunscreen. $14.95

8. Phytodefrisant- What did I just read? Try it: Fight oh de friz ant.. Haha okay. I have seen this PHYTO brand at many hair salons. For those who are always straightening your hair, this serum helps to NATURALLY straighten curly or frizzy hair without any damage. All you have to do is apply to wet hair and turn on that hair dryer! $26

9. Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray- I have seen this product in so many top styling product articles and blogs that I had to share it on mine. Everyone who has used it is in love with this spray and has claimed to be their favorite by far. Flat hair? No way. Volume and lift is blasted into your hair without any gummy looks or stiffness. It controls fly aways and frizziness as well as protects against heat. Volume lasts all day. I have to try this because volume is definitely part of my every day routine! $20

10. Okay for #10, I have read everywhere about It’s A 10 Brand for hair styling products and this is one of the best selling brands out there! I did some research and it’s a tie for top It’s a 10 styling product between the Leave in Product and Miracle Hair Mask. The Leave  in Product: repairs damaged hair, adds shine and detangles, controls frizz, seals and protects colored hair, stops hair breakage, enhances natural body, silkiness, and heat protectant. Just comb it in after spraying all over after your shower! The Leave in Product is $14. The Miracle Hair Mask detangles, moistures, instantly restores elasticity, softens and smoothes, improves color and natural body. This sells for $17.

These prices are pretty up there but i’m sure if you do some comparing and researching, you can find a site or vendor that has a lower affordable price.

Inexpensive Hair Styling Products:

1. Herbal Essence Shimmery Nights Shimmer Spray Gel- For those night goers that love to look amazing and add any shimmer, shiny things, this spray gel is for you! Holds your hair while adding shimmery glitter without making your hair feel gross! $6

2. Herbal Essence Tousel Me Scrunch Gel- one of my personal favorites! I love this gel! Smells awesome, not as harmful as the shampoo but gets my hair to scrunch and keep hold all day! $4.59

3. VO5 Hot Oil Moisturizing Weekly Intense Conditioning Treatment- This little tube conditions and adds softness to you hair! Don’t worry about greasy hair, your hair absorbs what it needs. $3.49

4. Pantene Pro-V Mousse, Extra Fullness Thickening, Maximum Hold- Ladies or Men with thin hair listen up!  This product was rated at a 9 for best volume product! You can style your hair even after using this! Gives your hair some body and holds all day! $4.49

5. Desert Essence Oragnic Jojoba Oil- If you have a dry and itchy scalp, massaging a bit of this oil into your scalp before it’s time to pass out, will do wonders! This product is also a multipurpose for removing eye make-up, making your hands and soles of your feet soft, and adding moisture to those damaged ends! -$12

6. Tresemee Curl Activator Spray- add shape to those curls, especially those hard to get ones! My sister has thick, straight sleek hair and let me tell you, it is sometimes impossible to get her hair to stay curled. She started to use this and it works! This product is awesome at holding your curls in place for quite some time! -$5

7. Softsheen Carson Hair & Scalp Spray- Do you color your hair a lot? Maybe even get perms more than the average person? Well this spray is designed to help chemically-treated hair! It softens and adds moisture to stressed locks! -$3

8. Sally Hershberger Wavy Styling Primer- With summer within a few weeks of reach coming around quickly, the effortless waves trend will be making a huge comeback. All you have to do is use this primer on damp hair and BAM! Instant sexy beach waves! -13

9. Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray- this is my go to hair spray! I LOVE this product, not to mention it’s amazing smell that I could even use as body spray! Even after spraying my styled hair, I can still run my brush and fingers through it without any snags or tugs. I love this spray!! I pair it up with my Tresemee 24 body volume hair spray and I love my results.- $3.59

10. Charles Wothington London Results Moisture Seal Leave-In Conditioner- readers say this is the best product they have ever used! It tames frizzy hair, instant transformation, restores moisture and shine! Your hair will look alive and healthy. -$5.95

I’ll do a follow up segment with everyone’s top favorite hair styling product. With every different hair type, there is always a hair product to help!

Hair Care: Is your shampoo hurting your hair?

8d1688a3dd56840076213d1bae6a86dc

Ever wish your hair can look this good? I know I have. I color my hair a lot and unfortunately it takes a toll on my hair so finding a great shampoo and conditioner duo that can restore and keep my hair healthy during and after coloring is important. Thankfully, my mother-in-law is beautician for over 20 years and owns 2 beauty salons and my sister-in-law is following in her foot steps, so I have amazing advice from both of them.

Last week I went to get my hair colored and this coming Thursday I will be adding the highlights and tips. The stylist asked me what my natural hair type is and I told her wavy. She told me that my hair feels rough like tight curls and it definitely should not feel this way for wavy or straight hair. I told her I have been using Herbal Essence and Garnier Fructis and she gave me a bad look and told me that those are the worst to use. I had no idea!! She also told me Suave and Aussie are in awful as well. Basically any CHEAP shampoo/conditioner is awful for your hair, especially those that smell amazing like flowers and deliciousness, because they have added chemicals that strip your hair.

For 5 years I have been going back and forth trying to find the right product to use. I started off with Pantene. While it works okay the first few washes, eventually it will start to mess with your natural head oils and start leave your hair looking greasy and gross. I have had over 13 people tell me that this has happened to them too. I switched over to Tresemee which worked so great for awhile but I had the same results as Pantene. I will say this, one of my favorite products from Tresemee is their 24hour Body Volume Spray. LOVE it. Moving on, I started to use Suave and I would say the first 5 uses, my hair was pretty soft but I did notice that my hair would be dry within less than 20 minutes. Then after that, my hair started to become excessively dry and awful. I really thought it was just going to break off so I stopped using it ASAP! I started to use Garnier Fructis because I loved the way it smelled. Sometimes after my shower, my hair would be kind of gross, you know, greasy almost, so I switched to Herbal Essence. Although it would leave my hair smelling like blooming flowers, it looked frizzy half the time and noticeably unhealthy. Then I switched back to Garnier Friuctis CLEAN brand, and i didn’t see much of a difference either. This is what I used last week until my hair appointment.

I was given Joico shampoo and conditioner for colored hair. After just ONE use, my hair felt awesome! It felt silky, smooth, healthy, soft, and had moisture. My ends were not dried out and I am very pleased. My husband used it to ( he doesn’t color his hair) and even he said his hair felt awesome and it does! My daughter is 3 years old and I ran out of her shampoo so I used Joico and what was the result? Extremely silky soft hair! Of course I still intend to use shampoo for her age because shampoo for adults can weigh down toddlers hair.

Anyways, I remember I did use Biolage once and I loved it. As I was shampooing my hair, I could already feel my scalp becoming clean. After, my hair was just awesome. The only reason I didn’t go back to it was how much it was. Sometimes $16 per bottle. But ultimately in the long run, i’d rather splurge a bit on shampoo and conditioner that would leave my hair noticeably beautiful than to use cheap products and be forced to hide my hair in a pony tail or have to pay more for treatments. So as the moral goes: the more expensive a product is, the better the result.

I have a few friends who told me what their favorite brand is and as time goes by, I will be experimenting with different shampoos and posting my results. Here are some reviews:

Jessica T.:I use Sebastian and Pravana. I’m in awe of them both. Sebastian isn’t quite as professional as Pravana, but they both make my hair soft, bouncy, and shiny. I’m obsessed with my hair and how it feels. Despite all the dying that I’ve done over the years, I feel like my hair is as soft as a baby butt

Lauren P.: I use ion for color treated hair. It’s purple.. Just because I have well water & my hair is so blonde.

Stephanie H.:L’oreal ever sleek “reparative smoothing shampoo and conditioner”. Sulfate free shampoos are best for your hair and this is one of them

Belinda M.:I love Tresemme hair products. If i want something healthier and and spend a little extra I love using Macadamia’s Natural Oil hair products. The hair repair mask is worth every penny and a staple in my beauty products. It’s great for damaged hair and it nourishes dry hair. You can find it at Target for $30  or on Amazon.com for $19.99.

Patricia S.:Right now however I am using CLEAR, its new and is working pretty good so far.  i have used ALL kinds of shampoo, and they have all worked for me at the beginning, but then they always make my hair fall like crazy and give me dry scalp.

Sabrina E.: I use herbal essences. I know, I know. But it just smells sooo nice. Lol. I also use a leave in serum from vs.

Michelle R.:Dove it keeps my hair soft and detangles it well and a leave in conditioner after.

Megan W.:Redken shampoo/conditioner is amazing! Pricey but worth it! & “It’s a 10″ leave in conditioner spray is really good &&& buy coconut oil from the grocery store, put it on the ends of ur hair, let it set for 20 min. It’s really good for ur ends every once in a while!

Alma F.:I recommend organic shampoo & conditioner because it’s the healthiest. I buy mine from Melaleuca….they have specific ones for kids too. Very inexpensive….you get 12 fluid oz for $4.99.

Of course shampoo and conditioner alone can’t create beautiful healthy strands. Vitamins, healthy eating, and other products play a huge role in the healthiness and restoring your hair which we will talk about in my next post. As I continue my research, I will post more reviews as well as my personal experience on different products. Next post will be products used on hair such as volume spray, mousse, leave in conditioner, serums, etc.

I will do my best to post up to date beauty tips, health tips, even for kids and babies!
